About Pentecostal Churches

Tradition

Pentecostal churches emphasize the gifts of the Holy Spirit, including speaking in tongues, healing, and prophecy. They are part of the broader charismatic movement that began in the early 1900s.

What to Expect in Worship

Services are often energetic and expressive, with contemporary worship music, spontaneous prayer, and an emphasis on the work of the Holy Spirit. Sermons tend to be passionate and evangelistic.

Church Governance

Governance varies widely across Pentecostal denominations; some are led by a senior pastor with a board of elders, while others belong to larger denominational structures.
